About

Ten years filming.
Still obsessed
with getting it right.

I've been filming professionally for over ten years. In that time I've shot documentaries, talking heads, events, and just about everything else you can point a camera at. Photography too — commercial, product, lifestyle, and portrait.

I'm based in the Forest of Dean and work out of Cheltenham. I've lived in Gloucestershire for over 30 years. I studied film at degree level — my dissertation was on cognitive engagement and prediction in film, which shapes how I approach every edit.

My kit includes cinema cameras, a full lens set, CAA-licensed drone, FPV rig, 3-axis gimbal, wireless lavs, and a shotgun mic. It all comes with the day rate.

Drone & FPV Operator

Most videographers bring a drone as an afterthought. I operate three distinct aerial rigs — cinematic, restricted-location, and high-speed FPV — each suited to different shots and environments. All CAA-licensed, all available on every shoot.

CAA Licensed Sub-250g Operator FPV Pilot Fully Insured

Cinematic

DJI Mavic 4 Pro

Smooth, high-resolution aerial footage for wide establishing shots, location reveals, and overhead coverage. The go-to for most commercial briefs.

Up to 4K 120fps · 3-axis stabilised

Restricted Locations

Sub-250g Drone

Under 250g means fewer restrictions in urban areas, national parks, and populated locations where heavier drones can't legally fly. More locations, more shots.

MTOM <250g · Reduced restrictions

Immersive, cinematic FPV footage for product reveals, chase shots, interior flythroughs, and sequences that a standard drone simply can't do.

FAQ

Common questions about hiring a videographer in Cheltenham

Everything you need to know. If something isn't here, just ask.

Ask a question
How much does a videographer cost in Cheltenham?

My day rate is £995, which covers the full shoot day — camera, lenses, drone, gimbal, full lighting package, and audio. Half-day rates are available. Most Cheltenham videographers charge £500–£1,500/day depending on experience and kit.

What's included in the £995 day rate?

Everything needed for the shoot: Blackmagic URSA 12K, full lens set, DJI Mavic 4 Pro and FPV drones, 3-axis gimbal, full Aperture lighting package (up to 1200W), wireless lavs, shotgun mic, and travel within Gloucestershire. Post-production is quoted separately based on the project scope.

What cameras do you shoot on?

Primary camera is a Blackmagic URSA 12K — cinema-grade, shoots in full RAW 12K. Secondary is a Sony A7 IV for stills and versatility, with a Blackmagic Pocket 6K Full Grip as a third camera for B-roll and tighter setups. I also carry 360 cameras and GoPros for specialist angles.

Do you offer drone and FPV filming?

Yes — CAA licensed, fully insured for commercial work. I fly a DJI Mavic 4 Pro for cinematic aerials, a sub-250g drone for locations with tighter restrictions, and two FPV rigs (one off-the-shelf, one custom-built) for high-speed immersive shots. All three systems are available on every shoot.

What lighting do you carry?

A full Aperture lighting package: three 300W LEDs, one 600W, one 1200W, Fresnel and spot lighting with gobos, LED panels, LED tube lights, softboxes, diffusions, negative fill including 4x4 floppies, and all stands and grip. Enough to light anything from a talking head to a large interior.

Can I hire you for photography only?

Absolutely. I take on standalone photography projects — commercial, lifestyle, portrait, product. Same day rate. Many clients book me for both to get video and stills from a single shoot day.

Do you travel outside Cheltenham?

Yes. I work regularly across the UK — Bristol, London, Birmingham, Cardiff, and further. A travel fee may apply for locations over an hour away, always agreed upfront.

How quickly do I get my footage or photos?

Photography: edited selects within 5–7 working days. Video: first cut within 10 working days from sign-off on the brief. Rush turnarounds are available on request.
