Brand Film Production

Brand Films That
Actually Get Watched

Most brand films look the same. The ones that work are specific, intentional, and shot with the right kit. Cinema cameras, controlled lighting, drone. Creative direction or camera op under yours.

Cinema-Grade from Brief to Rushes

The kit is the baseline. What matters is the intention behind every frame — lighting, composition, and aerial that serve the story.

Primary Camera

  • Blackmagic URSA 12K shooting 12K RAW
  • Cinema colour science
  • Maximum post flexibility
  • The format high-end post houses prefer for precision colour grading

Lighting

  • Full Aperture package
  • Fresnel hard light, soft fill, negative fill
  • Controlled contrast and colour temperature
  • Built around location and tone

Aerial

  • DJI Mavic 4 Pro for cinematic establishing shots

  • All aerial systems included at no additional cost

How Good Brand Films Get Made

The difference between a brand film that works and one that doesn't usually comes down to decisions made before the shoot day — not during it.

01

Specificity over aspiration

Brand films fail when they try to say everything. The brief needs a specific angle — a process, a place, a person — not a list of company values. I push back early on briefs that are too broad.

02

Pre-production is where it's won

Shot list, location assessment, lighting reference. Thorough pre-production means the shoot day runs clean. Poor pre-production means expensive decisions under pressure.

03

Creative lead or camera operator

For agency briefs I execute under the director's creative direction. For direct brand commissions I take the full creative lead from brief to rushes delivery.

04

Rushes for a professional post pipeline

12K RAW organised, labelled, and delivered within 48 hours. Ready for a colourist and editor to work with immediately.

Brand Film Questions

Common questions about brand film production — format, process, and how the day works.

What's the difference between a brand film and a corporate video?

A brand film is built around a story — it creates an emotional response or shifts perception. A corporate video is informational — it communicates facts, features, or process. Both are valid; they need different approaches.

Do you offer creative direction?

Yes. For direct brand commissions without a director, I take the creative lead — developing the visual approach from the brief, advising on locations, and making the creative calls on set.

How long does a brand film shoot day take?

Depends on scope. A focused, single-location brief can be executed in one day. Multi-location or complex briefs may need two. I advise on structure after reviewing the brief.

What format do you deliver rushes in?

12K RAW for maximum flexibility, or ProRes if preferred. Organised by scene and shot, delivered via file transfer within 48 hours of the shoot day.
