CAA Licensed Drone Operator

Drone Operator
for Commercial Hire

Four aerial systems — Mavic 4 Pro, sub-250g, FPV, and custom FPV — operated by a CAA-licensed pilot. Available for agency shoots, production company bookings, and direct commercial briefs UK-wide. Own kit, own transport. Ltd company invoicing.

Four Systems, One Operator

The right aerial system depends on the brief, the location, and what the footage needs to do. All four systems travel to every shoot.

DJI Mavic 4 Pro

  • Primary commercial aerial
  • 4K cinema quality
  • Smooth stabilised shots
  • Handles wind
  • Establishing shots, reveals, overhead coverage

Sub-250g Drone

  • Under CAA weight threshold
  • More urban flexibility
  • Fewer restrictions near buildings
  • Ideal for city-centre and populated areas

FPV Drone

  • High-speed immersive footage
  • Architectural flythroughs
  • Action sequences
  • Fundamentally different look to stabilised aerial

Custom FPV Rig

  • Built for specific performance requirements
  • Higher speed
  • Adapted camera mounting
  • For demanding FPV sequences

Aerial That Integrates With the Brief

Good aerial footage isn't just about height. It's about the right system, properly planned, integrated into a wider shoot.

01

Airspace assessment & authorisation

Every shoot starts with a full airspace assessment. NOTAM filings, CAA authorisations, and landowner permissions handled as part of pre-production.

02

Right system for the brief

Stabilised or FPV, heavy or sub-250g — the decision is based on location, brief, and what the footage needs to do. All four systems travel to every shoot.

03

Integrated with ground camera

Drone footage shot as part of a coherent visual plan produces better edits than aerials added as an afterthought. I operate both ground and aerial — full Blackmagic URSA 12K cinema package included on every drone booking. For agencies booking a drone operator, this means one operator, one invoice, aerial and ground footage.

04

Agency-ready workflow

Ltd company invoicing, public liability insurance, CAA documentation. Rushes delivered with clean metadata and organised folder structure. The booking process agencies and production companies are already used to.

Aerial Work

Commercial drone and aerial footage across UK briefs — stabilised, FPV, and combined shoots.

Drone Questions

Common questions about commercial drone operations and what's included in the day rate.

Are you CAA licensed?

Yes — A2 Certificate of Competency and Operational Authorisation for commercial drone operations. Full documentation carried on every shoot.

What's the difference between the four systems?

The Mavic 4 Pro is the primary commercial aerial. Sub-250g is for restricted urban environments. The two FPV rigs produce high-speed immersive footage. All four included in the day rate.

Can you fly in cities?

Yes, with pre-production planning. The sub-250g system has the most flexibility in urban areas. For larger drones near populated areas, I arrange authorisation in pre-production.

Is drone included in the day rate?

Yes. All four aerial systems are included in £995/day. No separate hire costs for drone on a shoot day.
